Trying to get the band together just so you can learn a new lick is like pulling teeth. I find it easier to record all the instruments myself, then go back and fiddle with new idea’s. The down side is that its very time consuming. Another problem would be, if you don’t have the other instruments on hand to make your own backing tracks. Now you have some new options………….
…..play bass? pick out a jam track with no bass line and add your own…..play guitar? pick out a jam track with no guitar, and add your own….same thing if you bang on the drums…..simple.
I like simple.
